Heathrow Airport have today launched their Airspace and Future Operations Consultation and I am keen for as many of my constituents in Uxbridge and South Ruislip to participate and ensure that their voices are heard.
The consultation will last eight weeks and will close on Friday 8th March at 11:55pm. The consultation seeks feedback on three core areas. The first, ‘airspace change for an expanded Heathrow’, this will influence how Heathrow designs future airspace to ensure they consider local factors when creating their future flight paths. The second, ‘airspace change to make better use of their existing two runways’, this allow residents to influence the decision on where they will position new flight paths for some arrivals on the existing two runways. Finally, the third area, ‘future operations for an expanded Heathrow’, residents can influence how Heathrow would operate their runways in the future, this includes factors such as managing noise, respite through runway and airspace alternation, directional preference and night flights.
If you are interested in partaking in this consultation, you can submit your thoughts online, via the post or at one of the upcoming consultation events. Further details can be found at the following link: https://afo.heathrowconsultation.com/
I also encourage you to attend one of Heathrow Airport’s consultation events held throughout January and February where you can find out more information on the consultation and experience a virtual reality sound demonstration. This allows you to experience various noise scenarios to illustrate the concepts and materials presented in the consultation. The experience will allow users to choose different heights, aircraft type and background sounds.
Please do not miss this opportunity to influence the future of our great constituency of Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
