Boris Johnson MP took the opportunity to pop into Hillingdon Hospital for a Christmas Visit to thank the staff for their hard work during the winter period. During his visit Boris was met by Shane DeGaris, Chief Executive of the Hospital and Anita Hutchins, Head of Midwifery and Consultant Nicky Jackson took him to see the maternity unit.
Boris is a huge supporter of plans to improve the hospital and in the New Year he will be meeting with the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt and the Chief Executive of NHS England to make the case for redevelopment. Boris is also fighting for upgrades to Uxbridge’s medical facilities.
Commenting on the visit Boris said: “Thank you to all of the staff who work so tirelessly here in Hillingdon Hospital. It’s been fantastic to see the new-born babies today – just a few of the nearly 5,000 babies born this year in Hillingdon – but to also meet the new mums and dads who only had praise for the care they have received. At this special time, I want to wish everyone at the Trust a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to visiting again in 2018!”
