Uxbridge and South Ruislip MP, Boris Johnson recently visited Ruislip Delivery Office to wish staff a Merry Christmas and thank them for keeping communities connected during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Boris was shown around by Delivery Office Manager Mark Semke and was introduced to the postmen and women who have been delivering parcels and letters to constituents. He also spoke with Manisha Bakhai about the role Royal Mail plays in getting post to service personnel around the world.
Boris also had the opportunity to meet Paul Quinnell, one of several posties who, earlier this year, lifted people’s spirits by wearing fancy dress on their delivery rounds and raised more than £10,000 for the NHS in the process.
Commenting, Boris said: “It was fantastic to visit Ruislip delivery office to thank Royal Mail’s posties, who have been working hard to keep the country connected during the pandemic by delivering and collecting Covid-19 test kits and making sure vital medicines get to the most vulnerable. Though the festive period is always a busy time of the year for postal workers, this year it’s been particularly busy, so if you see your postie out and about make sure to give them a big thumbs up.”
