Last week Boris Johnson, MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip enjoyed a walk along Long Lane in Uxbridge. Boris was accompanied on the visit by Councillor Ray Puddifoot MBE, Leader of Hillingdon Council.
Boris visited some of the businesses on Long Lane to find out how they are getting on following the easing of lockdown and the reopening of shops. Boris was very interested to see the steps that the shops had put in place to help make their businesses Covid secure.
Hillingdon Council is providing a free street marking service for businesses to ensure social distancing on the high street, assistance with tables and chairs licencing applications for outdoor dining, and support with risk assessments.
Boris Johnson MP said: “It was fantastic to be out and about on Long Lane in my constituency and visit the array of local businesses. I was delighted to see the real can-do spirit among staff. I would encourage everyone to shop locally and support the fantastic local businesses we have here in Uxbridge and South Ruislip.”
“I would like to thank all the businesses in the constituency– whether they have been able to trade or not – for their hard work and forbearance for the last four months and as our journey to economic recovery continues.”
