Boris BCU Commander

Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, Boris Johnson met with new West Area BCU Commander Paul Martin.

During the meeting in Uxbridge Police Station, Boris raised residents’ concerns about the BCU structure and the impact on policing in Hillingdon. Boris was pleased to hear the Commander had already agreed extra car patrols in Hillingdon. They also discussed the recent knife crime incidents in the borough and the targeted work undertaken to tackle this.

Following the meeting, Boris commented: “I am pleased to have met with Paul and put forward residents’ concerns about the need to tackle crime head on. I am a supporter of stop and search and used well, can be very effective. Paul has assured me he has increased resources in the borough, with extra cars on patrol since he took charge on Wednesday. I can assure my constituents I will be working closely with the Commander and his team to ensure Hillingdon remains a low crime borough.”
