Uxbridge and South Ruislip MP, Boris Johnson recently spoke with representatives from NHS North West London Vaccination Team leading on the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine across Hillingdon, including Uxbridge and South Ruislip. He was pleased to hear how well the rollout was going and asked for his thanks to be shared with everyone involved.
During the call he spoke with Steve Hill, a volunteer from Ruislip, Tarvinder Kalsi the CCG Primary Care lead, Edmund Jahn and Dr Ritu Prasad from the GP Confederation, Dr Ian Goodman the Hillingdon CCG Chair and Dr Genevieve Small, NW London’s lead GP for vaccination.
Commenting after the call, Boris said: “The vaccination programme has so far been an extraordinary success – with over 20 million people across the UK now having received their first dose, helping to cut infection rates and reduce the spread of the virus. I was delighted to have the opportunity to hear from some of those involved in the rollout here in Hillingdon and be able to pass on my thanks to them for all they are doing. Everyone should be very proud of what has been achieved so far but it now vital we keep up this momentum to ensure we are able to meet our target to offer a first dose of the vaccine to all adults by the end of July 2021”
Between 8 December and 21 February 2021, 23,667 constituents in Uxbridge and South Ruislip were vaccinated with at least one dose.
