Boris Johnson, Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip has today met with Detective Chief Superintendent Nick Downing, Hillingdon Borough Commander.
Mr Johnson was keen to meet with Mr Downing after having been contacted by a number of his constituents about crime in the borough and have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of local issues including the progress on the investigations into the recent murders in the borough and the new initiatives introduced to reduce crime.
Mr Johnson said after the meeting: “The clear and proactive approach of the police in Hillingdon is working. I was pleased to hear from Nick how together with his officers and the vigilance of local residents, the number of burglaries has fallen by 32%, compared to last year and knife crime is down by over a third. I want to thank the officers in Hillingdon for their hard work and commitment to bring crime down and ensuring Hillingdon remains a safe area to live and work.”
