Boris Johnson, Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip has today received assurance from the Secretary of State for Transport the Heathrow Spur remains a no-goer.
After Parliament voted for the expansion of Heathrow Airport, Boris received concerns from residents about what this meant for the Heathrow Spur, previously included in the plans for HS2. The Spur would have connected Heathrow as part of the HS2 scheme. Passengers will instead change at the new station at Old Oak Common for services to Heathrow Airport.
On receiving the news Boris said: “I know how important clarity is for residents going forward with HS2 and so I am pleased to be able to assure the local community that the government has no plans to reintroduce the Heathrow Spur.”
