A new Hospital for Uxbridge and South Ruislip

Since becoming your Member of Parliament, I’ve been campaigning alongside residents, NHS staff and councillors to ensure Hillingdon Hospital gets the funding it needs to redevelop the ageing site. I’ve set out my commitment to Hillingdon Hospital to ensure it gets the investment it needs so the facilities can finally match the devotion of the staff.  High quality healthcare has always been one of my top local priorities because I’ve seen first-hand the world class work our NHS staff do in caring for your friends and family.

And that’s why I’m delighted to say that as your Member of Parliament, I’ve secured new funding in the form of Government investment that will allow the NHS Trust to prepare a full business plan for the building work to create a new state-of-the-art hospital that they’d like to deliver for local residents and patients. In October 2020, the Health Secretary confirmed funding for the delivery of the new hospital as part of the Health infrastructure plan. A draft Strategic Outline Case has now been submitted by the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to NHS England/Improvement and more detailed planning is now taking place ahead of the submission of the Outline Business Case. I would like to thank the Trust for the progress they have made to date, and I look forward to working closely with them and all relevant stakeholders to ensure we get the building work underway on the new hospital as soon as possible.

A new website dedicated to the plans to deliver a new hospital in Hillingdon has been launched and can be found at: https://thh.nhs.uk/redevelopment/

As the scheme moves into the next stage, the Trust have started a community conversation to hear feedback from the local community, patients and stakeholders, test their thinking and develop plans further. I would encourage all constituents to get involved and have their say via: https://thh.nhs.uk/redevelopment/get-involved-and-have-your-say/

We have a growing population in Hillingdon, both young and old, who rely on the hard work of our doctors and nurses and I am committed to ensuring they have the top class facilities and resources they need to continue to carry out their jobs to highest possible standard. I continue to speak regularly with the key health stakeholders including The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Brunel University London, CNWL, NHS Hillingdon CCG and the Hillingdon Council to bring about tangible improvements.
