I am proud to serve as your active local MP for Uxbridge, Brunel, Cowley, Yiewsley, Manor, Cavendish and South Ruislip. Since being elected I have actioned over 18,000 pieces of correspondence on behalf of local residents and I will continue to work as an influential voice for residents.
My record of delivering for the area, previous experience as an MP and successes as Mayor of London mean I will be that voice. Whether the debate is HS2, supporting small businesses, or preventing over-development, I will fight in the interest of residents.
During my time as the Mayor of our city from 2008 to 2016, I cut crime, City Hall’s share of council tax fell and I brought jobs and investment to London. I have a track record of delivering for London as a whole, and more locally in our part of Hillingdon. The Metropolitan line upgrades during my time as Mayor mean we now have more, newer, air conditioned trains and a more reliable service. I have also secured the new Crossrail station at West Drayton.
As your MP we have had some great campaign wins recently whether it’s securing funding for the Battle of Britain Bunker, negotiating £26.5m for a replacement for HOAC, or the little things like reopening the toilet facilities in Uxbridge Station - I am keen to take on the challenge to get the best deal for Uxbridge and South Ruislip. There are some serious battles at the moment and I remain opposed to the closure of Uxbridge Police Station and will be working with the local council and Borough Commander to ensure the visibility of police and the safety of residents in Uxbridge are not affected.
As we go forward, whether it is pushing for improved health facilities or championing our fantastic charities, small businesses and community projects, I will renew my focus on bringing real and tangible improvements to Uxbridge & South Ruislip.
If you feel that I can be of assistance in anyway at all – whether visiting a great local community initiative or raising an issue that you need help with I am keen to help. Click here to get in touch.
